$60m/year manufacturer of light weight durable composite products headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a hard-working and dedicated Controller to join their team. The Controller will report directly to the EVP of Operations with dotted-line reporting to the Board of Directors/Owners. This is a 40 hour/week job (max) with your own office and a seat at the table with executive management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on manufacturing accounting experience in all areas of the P&L and Balance Sheet, be a collaborative team player, and be searching for a stable environment offering longevity and great work life balance and autonomy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the financial operations of the company, and any subsidiaries, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting
  • Manage, review, and improve, as necessary, all documented processes for all accounting functions including month-end closing procedure, payroll, invoicing, purchasing, inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Execute journal entries, monthly closing transactions and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare weekly payroll
  • Manage all AP and AR transactions
  • Monitor and manage cash flow
  • Administer 401(k) program
  • Produce and manage monthly and annual budget; analyze budget vs. actual cost and review variances
  • Support the reporting of the KPI’s used to measure performance and keep the EVP of Operations and Board of Directors/Owners aware of key financial trends, ratios, and performance
  • Coordinate with CPA firm on year-end tax planning and tax filing preparation
  • Oversee the annual insurance program renewal
  • Other duties as may be assigned or requested by the EVP of Operations or Board of Directors/Owners

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant business degree
  • 5 or more years of experience in the accounting field
  • Expertise using QuickBooks software
  • Proficient using MS Office and Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Preferences
  • Experience of 3 years or more in a manufacturing or factory environment
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing
