Rapidly growing PE backed startup out of Chesterfield, Missouri is seeking a skilled Controller to join their team. This company is an early player in a rapidly growing industry with increasing demand for the services they provide. This is a great opportunity for a corporate accounting leader with 5-10 years of total experience to get in on the ground floor and make an impact by building the company’s accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and budgeting infrastructure. Public accounting and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulatory experience preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the company’s financial processes and technology, including payroll, budgets, controls, payments, and accounting
- Manage tax planning and compliance, including federal and state, property tax, and sales and use taxes
- Support cost forecasting and budgeting and analyze financial performance
- Manage the formation and interaction of subsidiaries
- Manage regulatory accounting processes including formula rate filings
- Innovate on financial structures for electric transmission
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s in accounting or equivalent credit hours required
- CPA preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- 5+ years’ professional finance, accounting, and controlling experience, including at least 2 in power and utilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or other quantitative discipline
- Experience in FERC regulatory accounting is a strong plus
