OVERVIEW
Performs inventory valuation management and applies accounting principles to perform general accounting functions, analyze financial information, and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
- Analyze and report profit margins
- Monitors purchase pricing variances
- Prepare (monthly, quarterly, and annual) cost forecasts
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions
- Analysis of financial information to prepare financial entries that document business transactions, such as general ledger adjustments or inventory cost adjustments
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting, analyzing, and reconciling account information
- Communicates with branches and regional management as it relates to accounting and finance matters
- Participates in system implementations for operations accounting
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.)
- Two years of relevant experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to respond effectively both verbally and written to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Possess excellent professional and effective persuasive speech and presentations techniques on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors a must.
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra and statistical theory.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques and sampling theory.
- Expert knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Suite—Word, Outlook, Excel (Intermediate
and Advanced). - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
