Employee owned, full-service commercial real estate investment and management firm headquartered in St. Louis is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join their team. The Property Accountant will report to the Controller and have full responsibility for 10-15 multi-family properties. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 1-3 years of strong fundamental accounting experience (within real estate preferred), clear communication skills, the ability to independently problem solve by financial analysis, and take pride in their work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Full ownership and management of all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of properties
- Ensure all assigned financial reports are prepared in a timely and materially accurate manner
- Work with onsite property management team to support operations from an accounting perspective
- Performing general ledger accounting and bank statement reconciliation
- Prepares and presents journal entries, financial statements, and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis
- Assisting the accounting group to perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Full-cycle accounting experience
- 1-3 years of real estate property accounting highly preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Knowledge of financial reporting (full P&L and Balance Sheet)
