Senior Analyst, Accounting & Finance

Bonus: 10% bonus + 10% profit sharing


We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Analyst – Finance & Accounting for a privately held, rapidly growing, market leading equipment supplier headquartered in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have a CPA license (preferred), strong fundamental full-cycle accounting and GAAP knowledge, superb analytical skills, leadership abilities, 3-5 years of relevant experience (some public accounting preferred), an interest in M&A accounting, and a strong drive to grow professionally. This role reports to the Corporate Controller and offer a direct path to Assistant Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Operations
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial transactions and reconciliations.
    • Assist with treasury analysis, cash flow forecasts, and foreign currency hedging activities.
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual financial and capital budgets.
  • Financial & Management Reporting
    • Prepare monthly financial statements to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
    • Prepare monthly and ad-hoc management reports including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to help monitor and guide the business.
  • Financial Advisory
    • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, highlight areas of concern or untapped opportunities, and provide insights to senior management.
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual financial and capital budgets.
    • Present in conjunction with the Corporate Controller, key monthly financial results including KPIs to functional managers.
  • Audit, Tax & Compliance
    • Serve as point of contact with external CPA firm during external audits and with their preparation of federal and state income tax filings.
    • Prepare year-end reconciliations, journal entries, and audit workpapers and assist auditors with walkthroughs, questions, and testing as required.
    • Oversee the preparation by outside consultants, the annual compliance testing for the company’s 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans.
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of sales tax returns as well as ensure compliance with sales and use tax regs.
    • Monitor compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations at each location and department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting; MAcc or MBA preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with general ledger systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Professional self-starter who takes initiative and can operate effectively in a constantly evolving environment
