We are working with a rapidly growing newly-acquired private equity owned company headquartered in St. Louis to find an insightful, data-driven, and relationship-focused Senior Financial Data Analyst. The Senior Financial Data Analyst will play a key role in company-wide FP&A with a strong focus on Sales. The role will be critical in driving financial planning and analysis efforts, particularly in relation to sales performance. This position requires a deep understanding of financial principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence decision-making processes through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have Power BI expertise and 5+ years of relevant experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the financial planning and analysis activities related to sales, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Lead the implementation of Power BI and development of dashboards.
- Analyze sales performance, trends, and key metrics to provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support sales forecasting and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and other departments to gather relevant data and understand business drivers.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for executive leadership, highlighting sales performance and potential growth opportunities.
- Monitor and report on sales KPIs, identifying variances and potential risks or opportunities.
- Support the development and implementation of sales incentive programs and commission structures.
- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of various business decisions on sales performance.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all financial analyses and reports.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in sales analytics and financial planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- Power BI expertise Required.
- Proven experience as a Financial Data Analyst or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, financial software, and databases.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and financial metrics.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present insights clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
