Our client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed automotive company headquartered in St. Louis, currently in aggressive acquisition mode. With strong financial backing and a clear strategic vision, they are focused on consolidating a fragmented industry and creating long-term value through operational excellence and strategic expansion. They are seeking a talented finance professional at the Senior Associate or Manager level to play a lead role in M&A and FP&A activity.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a high-performing Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Lead with strong Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) capabilities to join our corporate team. This dual-role position is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is ready to take ownership of critical growth and financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development and FP&A.
Responsibilities:
M&A Responsibilities (Approx. 60%)
- Lead end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including sourcing support, due diligence, valuation, financial modeling, and integration planning.
- Collaborate with private equity sponsors and executive leadership to evaluate strategic fit and financial impact of potential acquisitions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including legal, finance, and operations during deal execution and integration.
- Maintain and enhance the M&A pipeline and target database.
FP&A Responsibilities (Approx. 40%)
- Drive the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on analysis of operating performance, cash flow, and key business metrics.
- Support board reporting, investor relations, and monthly business reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 4–7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or FP&A.
- Proven ability to manage M&A transactions and develop detailed financial models.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.
