Profile
Controller with experience beyond just “bean counting”. Extensive manufacturing industry experience with a breadth of roles that goes through accounting and FP&A roles. I find satisfaction on bringing value to the table and challenging the status quo. My career has presented challenges and opportunities for transformation and those experiences have helped shape my style into one of having constant curiosity and taking the pragmatic, yet energetic, approach. I have had the pleasure to learn what it means to be a solid business partner both internally and externally. What I can do within the business itself is just as valuable as to the end-users a business serves. From Lean Six Sigma teams to C-suite members to customers – I have had the opportunity to generate experience and understanding to be an asset to those I have worked with.
Why Hire This Candidate (In Their Own Words): I always have a “sleeves rolled up” attitude and will do whatever necessary to help create value and be a strong business partner. I take pride in helping those in non-financial roles have a better understanding and respect for what accounting and financial departments do for any business and industry.
Strengths: Soft skills; analytically driven; ability to identify and take action on process improvements; can be the author to explain the financial story to a broad audience
Career Highlight 1: Transformed an accounting team at a site that was in another state. The team had constant turnover and had a negative reputation amongst site management and other organizational leadership. The team turnover decreased to virtually zero, several processes were overhauled, and a change in team culture has helped improve the reputation and credibility of the team.
Career Highlight 2: 1 of 2 key leaders who created a Center of Excellence team for an accounts payable function which drove a standardization of processes, created labor efficiencies, and drove down inefficiencies of expense recognition.
Career Highlight 3: Led a key project where an on-going expense of material removal was turned from being a regular cost of doing business to an item of revenue generation.
Hobbies & Personal Interests: I am a football fan who loves to smoke meat and travel. I have become a gym nut and constantly work on bettering my health. I have a family that is my everything. I have a dog that loves going to work with me!
