As a CPA with a nontraditional background I am passionate about three main areas: Financial Performance, Process Improvement, and Systems and automation. I thrive on instilling a sense of financial ownership in my team. Truly, I believe that financial data is an asset, to be used and understood to gain valuable insight in how to increase operational performance for the business. Accounting is more than an audit, or numbers on a page. Accurate and most importantly, timely, results need to be presented with a punch to help find the narrative that makes the best use of everyone’s time and skills. Inefficiency in this process is anathema, so using my technical skills as a financial system expert I can help redesign the CofA, automate the financial statement production, reduce the time to close and build dynamic reconciliation, reports that build oversight and reduce manual inputs and system run time.

Career Highlight 1: Taking a company public through leading the accounting function through an IPO on the NYSE. In essence he took an under-performing team that did not even have reconciliations, and a 3 week close, down to a strict 10 days to producing F/S, and passing the DD audit associated with the IPO in 8 months.

Career Highlight 2: Built accounting and financial reporting infracture at multiple companies: Created financial close process and GAAP statements from scratch, Automated financial reporting and creating legacy of financial statement standards, and Launched 2 ERP’s (and other financial software applications, for many of which he was the SME or Admin).

Career Highlight 3: On 2 occassions, redesigned and released a new Budget, including installation of an entirely new budget system within 3 weeks. Installed system, trained business owners of input process, and build consolidation/reporting including workforce management.
