The Controller will lead both the cost accounting and general ledger accounting staff while reporting to the CFO. The ideal candidate will have a formal accounting education, strong cost accounting knowledge (either construction project costing or manufacturing cost accounting), 2-3 years minimum experience managing a team, a collaborative approach to business, and a solutions-focused mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an accurate general ledger
- Manage, lead and develop the accounting staff
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close
- Monthly financial statement preparation and analysis
- Support budget and forecasting activities
- Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
- Work with the CFO to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
- Work with the GL accounting and cost accounting teams to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met

- Manage job cost function regarding WIP schedules and meetings with Project Managers ensuring accurate and timely reporting

- Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
- Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assist key leaders throughout the company with ad-hoc reporting and data gathering requests
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting; MBA preferred
- CPA preferred but not required
- 3+ years of previous experience in accounting management or other related fields.
- Construction industry experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of and experience with cost accounting – either cost accounting in manufacturing or project/job costing in construction
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare analysis of transactions (e.g. cash flow from the sale of a Client portfolio company
- Maintain detail partnership accounting records (e.g. income, expenses, basis of investments, contributions, withdrawals, capital accounts) for investments partnerships and operating businesses
- Prepare financial statements and financial reports
- Prepare cash flow forecasts
- Prepare checks and/or wire/ACH forms to pay expenses, fund charitable contributions and gifts, and to fund investments

RESPONSIBLITIES
- Lead periodic closing process ensuring all work is accurate and completed.
- Work closely with the Plant Controllers and the operating accounting teams, providing leadership, coaching and guidance.

- Ensures timely identification, research and conclusions on technical accounting issues through technical memos and accounting policies. Stays current on U.S. GAAP with the responsibility for planning, implementing, gathering data, and reporting to comply with changing requirements.

- Assists in reviewing the Company’s consolidated financial results, trends, and ratios for reasonableness and reports on financial stability, liquidity, and growth. Assists in analyzing the financial impact of major business decisions and operational issues affecting the company. Develops ad hoc financial analyses and reporting as needed.
- Provides leadership of the accounting integration of acquired businesses, including implementation of Company’s processes and systems, development of the opening balance sheet, and application of US GAAP and purchase accounting adjustments.
- Partner with FPA on proper setup of newly acquired businesses within Chart of Accounts, Department Structures, Product Lines, etc. for consolidated financial reporting accuracy.
- Oversight of global treasury activities, cash forecasting and ensuring optimization of cash positions on global and local levels.
- Responsible for cash forecasting process development and meeting cadence to facilitate key cash allocation decisions
- Drive global cash plans to ensure cash availability for quarterly debt servicing
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a CPA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
