I have obtained a BSBA degree with a Major in Accounting. I have 30 plus years of accounting managerial experience in both the private sector and the governmentalnon-profit sector. I have vast experience in several areas of accounting including budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger and financial statement compilation. I have excellent supervisory experience including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance appraisals. I am well grounded in business and employment laws. I have attended several leadership training classes over my career. I have extensive experience in using Microsoft Office products to create more efficient processes in the accounting cycles. I have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Career Highlight 1: Help develop a solution for old rental inventory. Was able to repackage product and sell at current retail locations creating $1.2 million dollars in sales. Not only did we sell our old rental inventory, the company started buying in bulk other organizations old inventory, repackaging, and selling theirs also.
Career Highlight 2: Consolidated the payroll operation which was split between Human Resources and Accounting all under accounting. This created efficiencies and we were able to reduce 1 FTE saving the organization $37,000 dollars plus benefits. While working in the private sector, I participated in the SOX 404 documentation and testing resulting in the organization receiving a clean opinion in internal controls. This help maintain confidence in the organization with investors.
Career Highlight 3: I built a new billing system using Microsoft Office Excel to replace an old out of date system that was no longer supported. This saved the organization the cost of maintaining the old system. At this same organization, I re-organized the office staff, took on extra duties myself and was able to reduce staff through attrition. saving the company $40,000 yearly.
