Our client is an early-stage B2B SaaS company providing workflow and operational solutions to customers in the skilled trades. The company has a small, fast-moving team where employees have meaningful ownership of their work. As the business scales, it needs a Senior Accountant who can bring structure to the finance function while remaining comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage environment.

About the Role

The Senior Accountant will own core accounting operations and help build the financial infrastructure needed to support growth. This individual will work closely with stakeholders across the company on everything from monthly close to process design and will serve as a key partner as the business prepares for future fundraising, audits, and continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Support revenue recognition for SaaS contracts under ASC 606
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
  • Build and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation as the company scales
  • Support tax filings and coordinate with external tax and audit partners
  • Help prepare for audits, fundraising due diligence, and potential acquisition activity

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or active CPA candidate preferred
  • Prior public accounting experience required, preferably in audit or outsourced accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience owning a full close process with minimal oversight
  • Comfort with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Bill.com
  • Strong Excel skills, including work with large data sets and formulas such as SUMIFS
  • Excellent attention to detail and a bias toward building scalable processes
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Self-directed and comfortable working within a small team with evolving priorities
