Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and manage tax compliance engagements from initial planning through final client delivery, including individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns
  • Lead engagement teams to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable tax laws and firm standards
  • Serve as a primary client contact for assigned engagements and maintain strong client relationships
  • Oversee engagement planning, timelines, staffing, budgets, and overall engagement execution
  • Review tax returns, workpapers, and projections prepared by staff and senior accountants, providing coaching and developmental feedback
  • Identify tax planning opportunities, risks, and recommendations for clients and firm leadership
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while monitoring deadlines and profitability
  • Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax matters
  • Mentor and develop staff through training, guidance, and performance feedback
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and professional development initiatives
  • Support business development efforts and identify opportunities to expand client relationships
  • Contribute to operational improvement initiatives and client service enhancements

Qualifications

  • CPA license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of public accounting experience, preferably focused in tax
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance
  • Experience managing tax engagements and leading teams
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and tax projections
  • Strong client advisory and relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
  • Experience with individual, business, and/or trust taxation preferred
