The Manager will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting and tax functions, with a primary focus on preparing individual and business tax returns. Key Responsibilities

Management

• Manage a team of 3 employees and key vendor relationships
• Develop external relationships with wealth managers, attorneys, and business leaders

Tax

• Review individual, partnership, S corporation, and C corporation tax returns
• Conduct tax research to address client-specific issues and ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations
• Assist with year-end tax planning, including projections and strategies to optimize client tax positions
• Support IRS and state correspondence, including drafting responses and gathering documentation for audits or notices
• Participate in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and the overall client experience
• Stay current with tax law updates and contribute to team knowledge-sharing sessions

Accounting for Small Businesses

• Support the team with monthly bookkeeping and reconciliations
• Act as a key leader in the company’s monthly accounting transformation
• Help clients streamline operations through the setup and use of QuickBooks and other accounting technology platforms
• Collaborate with clients on day-to-day accounting matters, providing timely insights and recommendations
• Assist with client benefit setup, including 401(k) and insurance programs
• Prepare and deliver clear, actionable monthly financial summaries to clients

Integration

• Support the integration of acquired CPA firms, including alignment of accounting, payroll, bill pay, and tax systems
• Research and share best practices across firm locations to drive consistency and efficiency
• Partner with colleagues to identify opportunities for system improvements and standardization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
• Proficient in CCH and/or Drake preferred
• Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset and a desire to learn
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
