A global technology organization is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support a technology business unit and serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior technology leaders. This role partners closely with business and technology leadership to develop financial plans, manage performance, evaluate investments, and identify opportunities to improve financial and operational outcomes.
The position provides significant exposure to strategic planning, technology investments, financial management, business development, and process improvement within a complex, global organization.
Role
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance Business Partners, this position is responsible for a broad range of finance-related activities and serves as a finance subject matter expert for a technology business unit. Responsibilities include short- and long-term planning, deal and contract management, pricing, product management, financial analysis, and business case development.
Responsibilities

Lead financial reporting and planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and target setting for a designated area within a technology business segment.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership by leveraging a strong understanding of budgeting, long-range planning, forecasting, and financial performance.

Develop and recommend financial metrics and performance measures to help leadership evaluate business success.

Partner with regional, business-unit, corporate, and cross-functional teams to develop, analyze, and validate new business opportunities.

Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior business partners, ensuring financial plans and decisions align with organizational goals and strategies.

Partner with procurement/sourcing teams to identify efficiencies and ensure financial targets are achieved.

Perform detailed variance analysis and effectively communicate financial findings, risks, and recommendations to leadership.

Provide financial subject matter expertise in the development and execution of large, complex commercial agreements.

Evaluate new business opportunities and provide financial guidance related to ongoing negotiations, contracts, and customer agreements.

Apply technology cost-management frameworks to allocate technology costs and support product-level profitability and P&L management.

Support strategic initiatives and process improvements, proactively identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with enterprise risk-management policies and participate in internal control testing as appropriate.

Lead, develop, and manage a team, including goal setting, performance management, talent development, and coaching.

Perform ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and business-case development as needed.
Experience & Qualifications

Significant experience serving as a Finance Business Partner within a technology organization.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with enterprise financial systems and planning/reporting tools.

Experience with technology cost-management or IT financial-management platforms is preferred.

Understanding of Agile technology methodologies is a plus.

Energetic, collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.

Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and prioritize competing demands.

Experience managing or working within a diverse, multifunctional, global Finance organization.

Strong understanding of general accounting principles and internal controls.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to executive-level audiences.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external business partnerships and understand stakeholder needs and objectives.

Experience overseeing complex management reporting, including monthly financial results, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans.

Experience advising business leaders on financial risks and opportunities using quantitative analysis, business trends, and external market information.

Extensive experience developing and implementing process-improvement strategies.

Demonstrated ability to identify, manage, and resolve high-risk or complex financial and operational issues.

Proven change-management experience, including the ability to operate effectively in an evolving organizational environment.
