We are working with a Growing PE-backed industrial equipment leasing and maintenance company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri to find a strong Plant Controller. This position involves analyzing production outputs, controlling overhead expenses, inventory control and management, reviewing capital expenditures and being a business partner to all functions within the Repair business. The right individual for this role is someone who has some experience leading manufacturing finance or standard costing, is a self-starter, energetic, and willing to take on challenges with a positive attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and investigate complex information reported in the internal financial statements and other periodic financial reports for a multiple repair location providing insight
  • Analyze financial results and trends over time reporting on findings a recommendations to leadership
  • Review expenses and operating statements including COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), WIP (work in process) and overhead costs ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Review KPI (Key Performance Indicator) metrics on a monthly basis and partner with Plant Managers on areas for improvement
  • Research and recommend options and solutions for improved business results to senior management
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers and front-line supervisors to drive improved profitability
  • Conduct monthly financial business reviews with senior leadership in accounting and repair operations
  • Review inventory processes, cost of materials, capex spend, and operating costs
  • Daily operations accounting including general ledger, A/R, A/P, inventory management and capital spending
  • Assist the Repair Accounting team in managing month-end close process – including journal entry review and posting, account reconciliations and variance analysis to deliver complete, accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of efficiency while maintaining appropriate internal controls and compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare plant level monthly weekly cash flow forecast, monthly/quarterly financial forecasts
  • Prepare plant level annual capital budget and operating budgets
  • Provide supporting documentation for year-end financial audit
  • Provide accounting support for corporate and operations functions
  • Drive process improvement and efficiency in all accounting and close functions including ERP enhancements
  • Perform other assignments as required such as pricing analysis, payback modeling, wage scale increases and others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting Relevant Work Experience
  • CPA preferred
  • 8+ years experience in accounting and finanace
  • Relevant experience in manufacture or cost accounting
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel and ERP financial systems (SAP experience a plus)
  • Detail-oriented, high level of accuracy, ability to work with confidential information, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills , ability to multi-task, and handle multiple projects at a time
  • Problem-solving, process improvement, and prioritization skills
